2. It was assumed that full-time operation of the YDP would
be based on production at full capacity for a maximum of 330 days
each year, with 35 days allotted for maintenance time and outages
(a gO-percent operating efficiency) .

3. The YDP was assumed to be operated at 1/3, 2/3, or full
capacity.

4. If the water yield from a specific plan reduced the
required capacity of the YDP, it would be operated for the
required number of days each year to produce the required yield
at the closest assumed capacity (1/3, 2/3, or full), and the rest
of the year the YDP would be assumed to be in a standby mode.

5. If the YDP's estimated required capacity was at or less
than the 1/3 or 2/3 capacity, a module representing unused
capacity would be scrapped and a salvage value for the excess
module would be assumed.

6. Membrane replacement estimates assumed for full capacity
are $6 million annually, the biocide material for the storage of
the membranes wou~d be $1 mil~ion, and the non-contract cost
would be $430,000 annua~ly. If the required YDP capacity
utilized either the 1/3 or 2/3 capacity increments these costs
were proportioned accordingly.

7. For any plans that did not require the use of the YDP
under any circumstances, a salvage value was estimated.

B. If the certainty of YDP operation was questionable, or
the water yields varied from year to year for a given plan, the
YDP was assumed to be in the standby mode and the standby costs
were included.

9. Annual operating costs include costs for reject stream
replacement water at a rate of $123 per acre-foot, the current
estimate for providing reject stream replacement water by lining
the All-American Canal (AAC).

10. Power costs for the operation of any plan was assumed
to be at a rate of 50 mills per kilowatthour (kWh), except where
otherwise specified for plans involving special power purchasing
options.
11. Land purchase costs were based on the current price of
land in the particular area as ascertained by telephone calls and
other information. The cost of leasing land and the purchase of
water rights was obtained from other current Reclamation studies.
