The remaining cooling tower blowdown, and miscel-
laneous wastewaters are collected in an 8 mil lion gallon surge pond for
processing with vapor compression evaporators.

The total wastewater inflow of 912 gpm to the surge pond Is processed by two
550 gpm and one 300 gpm vapor compression evaporators operating in parallel.
The distil late production of 888 gpm suppl ies the makeup needs of the conden-
sate system with the excess blended with softened water to supply the ash and
scrubber systems. The brine waste flow of 25 gpm is discharged to the
evaporation ponds. The ash and scrubber system makeup requirements are
satisified by the softened cool ing tower blowdown.
