This study evaluates the use of the Lower Virgin River
Unit water of the CRWQIP as an alternate water supply for the Harry Allen Gen-
erating Station. Harry Allen Station is presently in a conceptual design
phase and will be located about 25 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. The
study was performed in cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation and Nevada
Power Company.

The objective of the study was to determine the in-plant cost difference for
using either the Lower Virgin River Unit water or the Clark County secondary
treated sewage effluent as the primary makeup water supply to the Harry Allen
power plant.

~,

i ;;;\

OBJECTIVE

,'.';

:<
"~';':

~.
;,'

STUDY APPROACH

"

The study was organized as a team effort including Jack Laughl in, Rick
Schroeder, Roger Jorden and Stearns Catalytic Corporation.
