Conejas Division (Field Preconstruct ion Activities 90% Complete) <br /> <br />i. The loI'oloosed ,.:orks of t21e Conejos Di'Vision are to provide a <br />supplemental water supply through storage facilities for 116,000 acres <br />gross in Conejos County, Colorado. <br /> <br />ii. The present p~~ provides for stage development of the Conejos <br />Division. Tlle first stage will be the construction of approximately <br />60,000 acre-feet of storage at the PlatoI'o site and, second, when economi- <br />cally jus.tified, the construction of aMi tional storage necessary for the <br />full utilization of the water resources of the Conejos Basin. <br /> <br />iii. Tlle following activities are planned and will be undertaken by <br />the project office: <br /> <br />(a) Preliminary designs and estimates of the Mogote inlet <br />canal at a more economical location (at some indefinite <br />future d.ete). <br /> <br />iv. Work was continued with the plotting of the cross-sections of <br />Platoro Dam. Lists of equipment required for Platoro ~lere compiled. <br />Location surveys of the Government camp site at Antonito ,.,ere being made. <br /> <br />v. This office assisted a representative of Mr. R. J. Tipton's office <br />in locating the canals, laterals and the land irrigated by each water <br />decree on the aerial photographs. Maps will be drall!Jl from the photographs <br />and this information together with the land classification will serve as <br />a basis for allotting water charges. <br /> <br />vi.
