All 24 SDCWA <br />member agencies have either implemented or have <br />scheduled public hearings to consider implementing Stage <br />II of the SDCWA plan, which is designed to acheive a 10 <br />percent reduction in demands by placing mandatory <br />prohibitions on certain water practices. <br />c. Resolutions and/or mandatory <br />ordinances have been adopted by other cities throughout <br />the service areas of Metropolitan's member agencies <br />including: the member agency cities of Glendale, <br />Pasadena, and Santa Monica; 15 cities served by the <br />Central and West Coast Basin Replenishment Districts in <br />Los Angeles County; all eight cities served by Calleguas <br />Municipal Water District in Ventura County; and all <br />eight cities in the Los Angeles County service area of <br />Las Virgenes Municipal Water District. <br />6. Contin~encY Plans. <br />a. Metropolitan has created a monitoring <br />system to track the effectiveness of the conservation <br />element of the Drought Action Plan and to determine if <br />storage objectives are being acheived to protect against <br />shortage impacts next year. <br />b. If the drought situation worsens, the <br />Metropolitan Board will consider more stringent <br />approaches, possibly including drought pricing patterned <br />after those adopted in 1976-77, which included pricing <br />penalties for excess use in additton to financial <br />rewards for reduced use. <br /> <br />-15- <br />
