No response was sent to <br />Living Rivers following receipt of its first letter. The Board will discuss the appropriate action to <br />be taken regarding this second letter at its July meeting. <br /> <br />WATER QUALITY <br /> <br />IBWC Reoort on Salinity Ooerations on the Colorado River <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder; for your information, is a copy of a report prepared by the US <br />Section of the IBWC concerning the salinity operations of the Colorado River for calendar year <br />1999. Minute No. 242 states that water delivered to Mexico upstream of Morelos Darn shall have <br />an annual average salinity of no more than 115 p.p.m. '" 30 p.p.m. over the annual average salinity <br />of Colorado River waters which arrive at Imperial Darn. <br /> <br />In the report, the IBWC reports that these objectives were met. Moab Uranium Mill Tailings <br /> <br />The House of Representatives has passed a supplemental defense spending bill that includes <br />$1 .9 million to be used by the Department of Energy to complete a study by years end to clean up <br />the uranium tailings near Moab, Utah. The senate is expected to take up its version of the bill which <br />dedicates $1.4 million for the work after the S=er recess.
