Central Utah Project: Bonneville Unit-
Awards were made on December 6,1979,
for Strawberry Bay, Roads and Recre-
ation; ApriI1?, 1980 for Jordan Aqueduct
Reach 3; and on June 24, 1980, for Hades
and Rhodes Tunnels and Access Roads.
An agreement to make available up to
44,000 acre-feet of water annually for
instream flow use to protect the stream
fisheries downstream of the Strawberry
Collection System was made on Feb-
ruary 7,1980, between the Service and
the State of Utah,

Jensen Unit - Block NO.1 Drains were
awarded on March 26, 1980, Red Fleet
Dam was completed and initial filling of
the reservoir began in May 1980:The
filling was carefully monitored, The reser-
voir was filled to 15,000 acre-feet of its
22,600 acre-foot capacity. Dedication
ceremonies for red Fleet Dam were held
on July 19, 1980,

Eighty-ton "mole" breaks through Rhodes Tunnel

Upalco Unit - On March 12, 1980, the final
Environmental Statement was filed with
the Environmental Protection Agency,
The Revised Definite Plan Report was
approved May 15, 1980,

Dallas Creek - The contract for Stage I
Ridgway Dam was awarded on December
6,1979,

Dolores - The District Headquarters
building in Cortez was completed in
March 1980, On June 19, 1980, the con.
tract for McPhe'e Dam was awarded, and
on August 15, 1980 the Bradfield Bridge
replacement was awarded,

Jensen Drains-gravel is dumped into trench

Emery County - The Block 4 Drains were
completed in January 1980,

Glen Canyon Unit- Lake Powell filled to
its peak elevation of 3,700 teet (27,000,000
acre-feet) for the first time in its 17 year
history on June 23, 1980, The powerplant
began operating at full capacity.

Lyman - The reservoir behind Stateline
Dam continued to fill. Insufficient runoff
prevents the reservoir from filling
completely,

Navajo Indian Irrigation - Block 4 Laterals
were completed in July 1980 with irriga-
tion water ,delivered to Block 4 lands.

Sublette-Investigations have been
concluded as the results indicated that
there is no need for additional water in the
area under present or projected water
needs.
