~
.
~

PREFACE

This section cf the Arkansas-White-Red Basins Repcrt
presents a summary report on the hydrclogio aspects of the AWR plan
of improvement. The data presented have been summarized from other
seotions of Part II of the Report of the Arkansas-White-Red Basins
and from hydrologic studies and information furnished by the various
State and Federal agencies. Data and results of hydrologio studies
furnished by various agencies are included in this section on the
basis that each agency assumes full responsibility for information
furnished by that agency. The report was prepared by the Chairman
of the Subgroup on Hydrology, a special work group established by
action of the Arkansas-White-Red Basins Inter-Agency Committee, with
assistance from other members of the Subgroup.

The Subgroup on Hydrology was composed of a hydrologist
from each of the following agencies: The Water Resources Division
of the United States Geological Survey, the Bureau of Reclamation,
the Soil Conservation Service, and the Corps of Engineers. The
United States Geological Survey hydrologist was chairman of the
Subgroup and devoted full time to the assignment, with the other
subgroup members serving primarily in a consulting capacity. This
section is a summarization of hydrclogic studies and information
furnished by the various State and Federal agencies and has been
reviewed by those agencies, with consideration given to their
comments in the completed report.

v
