197 ft /s. On March 12, the outflow was increased up to 230 ft /s and
main~ at that rate through April 4, 1979.. The outflow was decreased
to 177 ft / s between April 5 and April 18 and maintained at that rate
through the rest of the IlOnth. Due to low precipitation during April,
the ruooff dropped significantly.

Following the ~y 1, '.L979, ~ff forecast, the outflow was varied ..
between 176 ft /s and 224 ft /s tmtil the annual min.i.rnum oontent of
52,197 acr&-feet, elevation 7,704.60 ft., was reached on May 13, 1979.

The outflow was then regulated to bring the reservoir to near the top of .
oonservatibn s~rage for r~tiOna1 puxposes. The. outflow varied.
between 116 ft /s and 873 ft /s tmtil August 21 when the reservoir .
oontent peiIked at 101,793 acre-feet, elevation 7,765.42 ft. .

For the remainder of. the 6UIlOOr, outflow varied primarily due to flU9tuat:irlg
inflow. Feductiom; in releases were made to facilitate oonstruction of .
a bridge inmadiate1y Cbwnstream fran Ruedi Dam.

During September, 407.5 acre-feet of water were rold to the o:>loraOO
Higlvay Departnent.

On September 30, 1979, outflow fran Ruedi , Reservoir was 109 ft3/s, and
the oontent was 98,480 acre-feet. .

There -were i IX> replacarent releases for the oollection system made fran.. .
Ruedi Reservoir due to the late call on the river, September 9. Diversions
ended August 24.

Table 1 and Exhibit 1 sOOw the operation of Ruedi Reservoir during water
year 1979.

B. Western Sl~ o:>llection System

The Fryingpan-ArkansasProject inp)rts began on May 7 andenc1ed.on
August 24. : Diversions were interrupted by oold weather forcing floWs.to ..
('<rop below!min.i.rnum bypass requirements between May 9 and May 15. Three
new diversion points, Middle Cunningham, North Ctmningham and M:mlDn
creeks, came into operation for the first time in 1979.

The toW West Slope diversion in 1979'.was 54,566 . acre-feet. There were
910 acre-fE\E!t of Busk-lvanh:Jewater through Charles H, Boustead Tunnel
for Turqu::>i,se Lake delivery.
