4S'; 3

.

18. Comment - Alternates: Minimize health hazards at T~in Lakes by
re-routing the main street of the Village (Highway 82) from the
main part of town to one block north.

Resp~: Basically the same pollution and sanitary problems
~ould exist even though the high~ay were relocated one block
north. The Burellu of Reclamation is currently involved in a
joint agreement with Forest Service and Lake County for a com-
prehensive study of ~ater supply, se~age and solid ~aste disposal,
and the development of alternate systems to solve the problem.
The present maximum conservation level of 9,200.0 should not have
any effects on the present pollution or sanitary situation.

19.

Comment - Alternatives:
ne~ operating plans more
standards.

Review, re-evaluation and adoption of
in keeping with present engineering

Rc-engineering or Project. Recent studies and engineering devel-
opments may ~ell have disclosed ne~ methods to more adequately
adjust the present needs ~ith preservation and enhancement of
the envirorunent.

Response: The Bureau of Reclamation and other cooperating
agencies have revie~ed the Project on II continuing basis. The
most up-to-date methods and criteria have been and are no~
currently applied with the scope of Project purposes constantly
in mind. The volume of studies previously made and the changes
~hich have been incorporated into the Project substantiate this
statement.

.

XI-232b

.
