r: ... [, .~.
a-'''''''

.

Response: The Lime Creek Intercept is a deferred feature of the
Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. If and when it is developed, a compre-
hensive environmental assessment, including economic geology, will
be made of the area.

Additional data have been included in the Economic Geology Section,
as requested in Chapter III, Section A3e of the Final Environmental
Statement. Details have been included in the statement to locate
Project features relative to the varioUs mineralized zones of the
"Colorado Mineral Belt." Results of preconstruct ion geologic
investigations, which verify the absence of commercially develop-
able ore deposits, have been referenced in~he final statement.

The Bureau of Land Management has been checking tho validity of
unpatented mining claims in conflict with the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project. The status of this investigation is shown in the attached
memorandum. Several of these claims have 'been declared null and
void because there were no valuable ore deposits within the limits
of the claims. These are also described in the final statement.

.

XI-262

.
