<br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />~I The Council anticipates that Reclamation will <br />automatically budget sufficient funds for the required <br />operation and maintenance of the Grand Valley and Paradox <br />Valley Units. <br /> <br />II Advance planning and construction will be a component <br />of the Dolores Project. <br /> <br />3/ The recommended funding amounts are for salinity <br />;ontrol efforts that are over and above funds normally <br />appropriated by the Congress for management of the public <br />lands. <br /> <br />41 Federal salinity cost share funds to be administered <br />by ASCS (with 30 percent reimbursement from the Basin Funds <br />subject to P.L. 98-569). <br /> <br />~I Funds utilized by SCS and Extension Service to <br />provide technical assistance to case participants and for <br />monitoring and education activities. <br /> <br />Conclusion <br /> <br />The Council wishes to express its appreciation for the, <br /> <br />opportunity to submit its comments and suggestions to the <br /> <br />federal agencies. The Council is generally pleased with <br /> <br />the interagency efforts put forth in FY 1988, and looks <br /> <br />forward to further success in the coming year. <br /> <br />-18- <br />
