ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Water supply forecasts take inta cansideratian present hydrometeorolagical canditions and use average
basin temperatures and precipitation far the forecast period. As the farecast season progresses, a greater
portion af the future hydrolagic and climatic uncertainty becames knawn and manthly forecasts become
more accurate.

Valume forecasts represent adjusted flaws; that is, observed flaws with upstream water use taken into
accaunt. Adjusted flaws will closely appraximate natural ar unimpaired flows. Hawever, not all
upstream diversions ar impaundments are measured or quantifiable. Far specific adjustments used with
each forecast point, consult the Guide to Water Supply Farecasting.

The Water Supply Outlaok is issued manthly January through May by the Colarada Basin River
Forecast Center, Natianal Weather Service. It represents a caordinated cffor! between the National
Weather Service, Natural Resaurces Canservatian Service, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Geolagical
Survey and lacal water district managers.

DEFINITIONS:

Acre-Faot:
The volume equal ta ane acre cavered one faot deep (43,560 cubic feet),

Average:
The arithmetic mean.
