However increased diversions of transmountain water sup-
tI.
plies by the Colorado canal in recent years, and especially in 1943, preclude the

use of diversions by the Colorado canal in 1943 in arriving at a determination

of the amount of additional useG of water by the canals above Caddoa Reservoir.

Average historic uses by the Colorado c!lllal up to 1939, and 1943 diversions

by this canal, are shown in the tabulations however, for the information of

interEsted water .users.

o

By elimineting diversions by the Colorado canal, it is believed that fairly

reliable conclusions may be drawn as to increased uses of river water by the

.:\

other canals in 1943.

Upon this basis, the records appear to show that total net increased

diversions of river water in 1943 by the other five canals, amounted to but

1258 acre feet. This latter amount added to the total increased diversions

in 1943 by Colorado canals below Caddoa Reservoir, shows a total increased use

of water in 1943 by Colorado over average historic uses of 5285 acre feet,

compared with increased deliveries to, and uses in Kansas above historic

average uses of 4296 acre feet; also deliveries to Kansas in excess of

Stipulated requirements, of 5930 acre feet and 5884 acre feet in excess of

Kansas' rightful proportion of all diversions by the Colorado ditches below

Caddoa Reservoir in 1943. The average of these three additional deliveries to,

and uses by Kansas ditches, therefore appears to have been but 85 acre feet

more than the total amo~~t of increased uses of river water in 1943, by the

\
.. ---'-----17-Calorado- ditches involved..-
