<br />both in 4-H and at Brush High School
<br />where he graduated this year. Thls
<br />spring he was chosen "Mr. Beetdigger"
<br />by,BHS students. It's an honor.awarded
<br />on the basis of all-round activities dur-
<br />ing four years of school.
<br />In the seveJ:'l years he has been in
<br />4-H, Howard has missed only one meet-
<br />ing of his club, the Hustlers. He's held
<br />every office and been active in every
<br />club undertaking.
<br />Howard and his family are proud of
<br />his church record. He has a perfect
<br />seven-year Sunday School attendance
<br />record at Immanuel Congregational
<br />church, and a nine-year pin for attend-
<br />ance at Bible School.
<br />Somewhere in the 4.H philos-

<br />An 18-year-old farmer-businessman
<br />from Brusll has been selected by the
<br />Colorado Cooperative Council scholar.
<br />ship committe to receive an all-expense
<br />paid tdp to the annual meeting of the
<br />American Institute of Cooperation. The
<br />conference is scheduled for August 20-
<br />23 on the University of Minnesota cam-
<br />pus in St. Paul.
<br />The scholarship recognizes Howard
<br />Bostl'On'I, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
<br />Bostrom, as "an outstanding 4-H youth
<br />hl the eastern part of the state."
<br />Howard will make the trip to Minne-
<br />sota with othel. scholarship winners
<br />from Colorado.
<br />John Busch of Longmont is the win-
<br />ner of the joint A.I.C. and Colorado
<br />Cooperative Council scholarship from
<br />the state as a whole. Ids Cooper' of
<br />Montrose is the winner from the west~
<br />.em part of the state.
<br />Other Colorado delegates include
<br />Betty Joe Fonte, Wray; Rich Lopez,
<br />Wheatridge, representing the Boy
<br />Scouts; Patricia Dodero, Fort Lupton,

<br />junIor leaders' training conference, and
<br />lllinois Youth Exchange.
<br />His 4-H career got a boost when he
<br />won two catC!h.lt calves, one at the
<br />Morgan County .Junior Fair and the
<br />other ttt the National Western Stock
<br />Show In Denver. The calves were mar-
<br />keted successfully, and Howard UlIed
<br />the money to invest in more projeets.

<br />Utilities Commission in a hearintr held
