Wheeler & Associates repore on the Lake Meredith <br />Enlargement Feasibility Study, The study's results indicated a proposed Lake <br />Meredith high dam alternative with a high water surface elevation of 4,260-ft. <br />msl. with a useable storage capacity of 80,823 AF. Based on this storage and the <br />storage of Lake Henry, this scenario assesses the amount of Colorado Canal <br />diversions that will effectively use this storage capacity on an annual basis, The <br />Colorado Canal headgate annual average diverted flow to effectively utilize the <br />proposed storage is approximately 405 cfs with an assumed Lake Meredith annual <br />average release flow of one half the diverted flow or 178 cfs. <br /> <br />The four water delivery scenarios are summarized in Table I-A with three primary <br />results/conclusions identified below, Based on these results, it is apparent that the <br />Lake Meredith storage capability will be based on physical constraints, and <br />therefore can not effectively use all of the Colorado Canal delivery system <br />capacity, This result is based on an assumption that Lake Meredith average <br />annual releases are approximately one-half of the storage inflows, This <br />assumption needs further analysis and verification during refmement of the Lake <br />Meredith Reservoir enlargement and operation plan, <br /> <br />. Based on a previous Lake Meredith Enlargement Study, a combined storage <br />total of Lake Henry and Lake Meredith of approximately 89,000 AF would <br />require a total annual average Colorado Canal diversion of approximately <br />390 cfs which would effectively utilize little more than half of the canal's <br />capacity (760 cfs). <br />· The topographic contours of the area may economically limit the potential <br />storage capacity of Lake Meredith, <br /> <br />URS Greiner <br /> <br />- 3 - <br />
