? 3 'J'S
N "-....

Executive Summary

C. Findings

In order to maintain a safe and reliable water supply, CSU will need to implement various
system improvements to the existing collection system, construction of a major delivery
system, and acquisition of additional storage space.

The existing system improvements consist of the Rosemont Improvement, Pikeview
Intake, Bear Creek Intake, and Otero Expansion Projects, The additional yields and
staging of these projects are illustrated in Table I and Figure I.

The new major delivery system, the Southern Delivery System, includes construction of
two reservoirs and acquisition of additional firm storage space in the existing Fry-Ark
Project reservoirs in the Arkansas River Basin, CSU will construct Jimmy Camp Creek
Reservoir for use as a terminal reservoir to meet monthly peaking demands and for
storing emergency water supplies. The other reservoir, Williams Creek Reservoir. will
store and release reusable return flows to achieve maximum river exchange potential on
the Arkansas River.

In order to provide a reliable water supply through the planning period CSU also requires
storage space in the existing reservoirs in the Fry-Ark System. The additional yields and
staging of these projects required by CSU to meet their projected demands are illustrated
in Table I and Figure I.
