' ,. - '" <br /> <br />Selected Exceedances: To view trends over time, selected exceedance levels can be plotted. <br />Typically, the 25% or upper quartile, 50%, 75% or lower quartile, maximum, minimum, and <br />average values are plotted for each year. This is shown conceptually in Figure 12. Just as it <br />plots absolute values for minimum and maximum elevations reached, the program plots actual <br />values that approximate the "75%," "50%," and "25%"exceedance. Being based on the closest <br />actual values, the concept requires a larger number of traces for the curves to be more accurate. <br />While this method allows the user to view the trends over time, only selected exceedances are <br />shown instead of the full distribution that was shown for one year in Figure 11.
