<br />6. Agriculture. The project will furnish over 115,000 <br />acre-feet of water for new or supplemental service to <br />irrigated lands. Would the new crops be accessible to <br />outside markets or would they be utilized in the general <br />vicinity of the project? Are the lands suitable for <br />irrigation? <br /> <br />III. Import-ant State Interests. For each reviewing agency, <br />a brief description is presented of important State <br />interests which that agency has the capability to <br />comment on. This listing is not meant to preclude any <br />agency's consideration of any pertinent matter. <br /> <br />AGRICULTURE. What effects will the project and its <br />alternatives have on agricultural operations? Include <br />consideration of land use changes, water supply, <br />salinity, etc. <br /> <br />EDUCATION. What impacts will the project have on <br />school district enrollments? Consider short-term <br />growth during construction phases as well as long- <br />term population increases. <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />ENERGY CONSERVATION. Does the project propose an <br />efficient use of water and energy resources? Have <br />possible conservation measures been examined thoroughly? <br /> <br />HEALTH. Has adequate consideration been given to <br />increased discharges of wastewater and irrigation <br />return flow? Have the industrial alternatives been <br />adequately covered? <br /> <br />HIGHWAYS. will the increase in traffic during <br />construction and operation be handled satisfactorily <br />by the existing system? <br /> <br />COMMERCE AND DEVELOP~mNT. Are data regarding job- <br />generation for the project accurate and inclusive? <br />Are population growth projections consistent with the <br />data used? Was the discussion of the recreation <br />potential of the projects compatible with available <br />recreation demand data? <br /> <br />HOUSING. What bearing will the projects' construc- <br />tion and permanent labor force populations have on <br />housing availability in the area affected? Are <br />existing housing plans capable of acco~~odating protect- <br />ed short and long term growth? <br /> <br />LOCAL GOVERffl1ENT. Are local plans and planning <br />organizations capable of dealing with anticipated <br />impacts of the projects? <br /> <br />2 <br />
