Munioipal water Enlargement of the existing Sugar Loaf Reservoir to 45,000 acre- foot capacity at a oost of ,{'2,42B,OOO and construction of a oanal of 200 second-foot capacity from East and Tennessee Forks of the ~rknnsas River to the Sugar Loaf Reservoir at an estimated cost of 0207,000 would const~tute the alternate justifiable expenditure of $2,635,000 for supplying additional municipal water to Pueblo and Colorndo Springs. The total annual benefits from supplying 5,700 aore-feet of muni- cipal water amounts to ~3l9,OOO. The annual operation, maintenance, and replacement expenses chargeable to municipal water would bo $2,490. The difference between these two figures ($316,510) oapitalized at 2-1/2 percent over the l00-year period equals Sll,590,OOO which is greatly in excess of the ~2,635,OOO oomputed in the preceding paragraph. 24
