<br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Colorado River above Grand Junction, Colorado <br /> <br />Work on engineering plans, hwdrology, land resources, power studies <br />and economics was continued by the area office. <br /> <br />Smith Fork Projeot, Colorado <br /> <br />Tail water studies at the diversion dam site on the Smith Fork River <br />were begun by the area office. Preliminary designs and estimates on the <br />Crawford Dam were completed by the Regional Office and forwarded to the <br />Chief Engineer for review. A papor location of the Aspen Outlet Canal was <br />made and the plotting of field data was completed. Yardage calculations <br />Were started. Work on the Smith Fork Feeder Canal and the Aspen Outlet <br />Canal was 20 and 30 percent complete, respectively. Hydrologic studies <br />progressed rapidly and were brought' to about 78 percent completion by the <br />area office. A very preliminary silt study was made for the Crawford <br />Reservoir by the area office, reviewed by the Regional Office and forwarded <br />to the Chi of, ~dro1ogy Division. Economic studies comprising studies of <br />Presdnt Economy, Anticipated Economy, and Repayment ability progressed <br />satisfactorily. These studies were 80 percent, 60 percent, and 40 percent <br />complete, respectively, at the end of the month. A project report on <br />recr~ational Use and development of Crawford Reservoir was received from <br />the ~ational Park Service. <br /> <br />Gunnison River Project, Colorado <br /> <br />Miscellaneous measurements and tabulo.tions of land acroages were made. <br />Investigations on the Uncompahgre River which were reported under this <br />project were transferred to the Gunnison-Blo.ck Canyon unit of the Colorado <br />River Storage Project. <br /> <br />Silt Project, Colorado <br /> <br />A semi-detailed land classification survey was sturted on the project. <br /> <br />Grand Valley Project. Colorado <br /> <br />Cross-sections of the High Line Canal, both abovo and below each <br />structure considored for reconstruction were taken. Inspections of Tunnel <br />No.3 and sm.'ctures on the High Line Canal were made by J. N. j,lurdock and <br />C. H. Cartor of the Regiollal Office and A. B.
