BUREAU OF RECLAMATION <br /> <br />LOWER COLORADO REGION <br /> <br />PART 417 <br /> <br />DETERMINATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />FOR IMPERIAL IRRIGA TION DISTRICT <br /> <br />CALENDAR YEAR - 2003 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The purpose of this document is to I) make an annual recommendation for calendar year <br />2003 relating to water conservation measures and operating practices in the diversion, <br />delivery, distribution and use of Colorado River water by the Imperial Irrigation District, <br />and, 2) make an annual determination by the Regional Director of the Imperial Irrigation <br />District's estimated water requirements for 2003 to the end that deliveries of Colorado <br />River water to the Imperial Irrigation District will not exceed those reasonably required <br />for beueficialuse for potable and irrigation purposes under its Boulder Canyon Project <br />Act water delivery contract with the Secretary of the Interior. The right of the Imperial <br />Irrigation District to divert and use water from the Colorado River is not at issue in this <br />delenninalion except insofar as that right is limited to the end that, pursuant to the <br />Imperial liTigation District's Boulder Canyon Project Act water delivery contract with the <br />Secretary of the Interior, deliveries of Colorado River Water to the Imperial Irrigation <br />District shall not exceed that amount of water reasonably required for benelicialuse for <br />potable and irrigation purposes Within the boundaries of the District in the Impenal and <br />Coachella Valleys in California during 2003 from regulatory structures controlled by the <br />United States, <br /> <br />July 2, 2003 <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Detenninations and RecommendallOl15 <br />For lID - Calendar Year 2003 <br />
