Their relationships are shown in Tables 111-3 through <br />111-7 by major cover types. and in Table 111-8 for gross areas used <br />for grazing. <br /> <br />Irrigated cropland occupies approximately 1.6 percent of the land <br />area, but ;s an important asset to farmers and ranchers. Most of <br />the irrigated acreage is used to raise feed which supplements the <br />forage supplied by the range. Range management ;s often dependent <br />upon irrigated lands to furnish the additional animal unit months <br />of feed required when the 1 ives tack are not on the range. <br /> <br />Dry cropland is used largely for bean. wheat. and oat production. <br />There is a recent trend of converting the poorer production areas <br />to grass. <br /> <br />111-21 <br /> <br />
