.

.

the South Platte River. Flows at the Kersey gage were considered

as being at the Weld County site in this study. The amount of

Denver's sewage outflow was obtained from the City of Denver,

tabulated and added to the South Platte River gaged flow at Denver.

Sectional accretions between the Denver and Henderson

gages were assumed available for diversion in the reach. Sectional

accretions between the Henderson and Ft. Lupton gages were assumed

available below the Brighton Ditch. On the basis of seepage inves-

tigations made in 1926, 1927 and 1929, between the Ft. Lupton and

Kersey gages, it was estimated that approximately 25 percent of the

total accretions between those gages became available for diversion

below the Evans No. 2 Ditch. and of the remainder, one-half was

available for diversion below the mouth of st. Vrain Creek and the

other half below the mouth of the Big Thompson River. In the opera-

tion studies, at such times as the computed accretions available

below the Evans No. 2 Ditch plus the South Platte River flows were

not great enough to equal the actual diversions between this ditch

and st. Vrain Creek, the accretions available below the Evans No.

2 were increased enough to make the total water in the river equal
to the irrigation diversions.

The total daily flows at Denver were routed downstream by

deducting 4iversions and adding tributary inflow and accretions at

their respective points of availability. Tabulations were made

of the Denver water at the Henderson gage, the Ft. Lupton gage,

- 7 -
