S. <br />Army Waterways Experiment Station on methods for de- <br />watering dredger wastes to reduce contamination of <br />adjacent groundwater or bodies of water. <br /> <br />(6) Consultant to Arizona Water Commission, to re- <br />commend corrective measures for an earth dam with a <br />serious underseepage problem. <br /> <br />(7) Member of Task Force set up by U. S. Dept. of <br />the Interior on request of U.S. Senate to investigate <br />unsafe mine tailings dams in Appalachia. Served as <br />seepage consultant. Inspected about 40 of these dams <br />via helicopter in June 1972. <br /> <br />(8) Served as "expert witness" for City of Modesto <br />in law case involving necessity for City's purchase of <br />1500 acres of land for oxidation ponds. <br /> <br />(9) Served as "expert witness" for State Reclama- <br />tion Board on the Modesto oxidation pond project. <br /> <br />(10) Analyzed spreading groundwater mound around <br />Camanche Reservoir for East Bay Mun. Util. District. <br /> <br />(11) Analyzed seepage and groundwater for several <br />Central Valley sewage projects, including City of <br />Fresno's Sewer Farm which needed to be enlarged to <br />take care of increasing flow volumes. <br /> <br />(12) Made detailed investigation of problems of <br />water in major highways for the FIDiA. <br /> <br />(13) Made detailed investigation of problems of <br />water in major airbase and airfield pavements for the <br />U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, CERL, Champaign, Ill. <br /> <br />(14)Consultant to the Univ. of Illinois on a study <br />for the Fffi'lA to develop "Zero maintenance" pavements. <br /> <br />(15) Consultant to the National Aeronautics and <br />Space Administration (NASA) on methods for improving <br />the drainage of special airfield landing field at <br />Cape Kennedy to reduce skidding hazards for their <br />Space Shuttle Vehicles. <br /> <br />(16) Made site inspection of mine tailings ponds <br />for several major mines in Arizona to give advice on <br />problems with spreading of seepage into surrounding <br />groundwater. <br /> <br />(17) Consultant to U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, <br />Seattle District, on seepage involving radio-active <br />wastes from Hanford Atomic Energy Works. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
