Another objective is to determine <br />the cause of short-term salinity fluctuations <br />in the lower river. <br /> <br />Interagency Programming Committee <br />The Principal Hydraulic Engineer partici- <br />ates on the Interagency Programming Com- <br />mittee (State Program for Control and man- <br />agement of Water Q!!ality) as the <br />representative of the Colorado River Board. <br />This committee was established under Water <br />Code Section 13\63 (AB 413, 1969) with a <br />representative of the State Water Resources <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br />Control Board as Chairman. Its purpose is to <br />assure that the total state program for the <br />control and management of water quality is <br />adequate to meet state and local needs and to <br />assure maximum efficiency in the conduct of <br />individual state agency activities which form <br />a part of the total state program. <br />As a result of the interchange of each <br />agency's activities that occur during the <br />meetings of the committee, and a review of <br />the budgeted agency programs, the commit- <br />tee was able to certify to the State Water <br />Resources Control Board that there was no <br />duplication in the water quality related ac- <br />tivities and programs in the 1971-72 budget. <br /> <br />, <br />
