The U.S. Fish & Wildlife <br />Service has recently completed a Cooperative Agreement with the <br />smithsonian to conduct the above work over the next four to five <br />years. This work will be conducted as a part of the Upper Colorado <br />River Basin Recovery Implementation Program. Members from the <br />consultation team will be requested to participate on the ad hoc <br />UBRIP work committee. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br /> <br />,it' <br /> <br />The initial literature review on the status of the Gila taxonomy <br />has begun. A work plan and protocol for collection of fishes is <br />also being completed with a preliminary report due by March 30, <br />1990. Beginning in Fiscal Year 1990, the program manager will <br />select an ad hoc review panel, the program manager will develop <br />work statements, issue contracts, and review products as they are <br />developed. Timinq of the Proposed Work. Work on the Gila taxonomy <br />issue has already begun with an initial/literature review due by <br />October 1, 1989. Proposed efforts in Fiscal Year 1990 are now <br />being reviewed by the Technical Group of the Upper Basin Recovery <br />Implementation Committee. Beginning in Fiscal Year 1991, a three <br />or four-year research program is anticipated to fully answer the <br />Gila taxonomy questions. <br /> <br /> <br />F. Products Expected.
