<br />The osmotic pressure is that for the feedwater which can be assumed to be <br />0.00082 times the concentration of total dissolved solids in mg/l. <br /> <br />The Office of Saline Water cost calculation manual does not indicate a <br />correction factor for feedwater temperature if it is different than the stan- <br />dard of 70oF. The feedwater temperatures for the selected communities are all <br />significantly lower than 700F and such lower temperatures require additional <br />membrane area to achieve the desired product water flow rates. Since the manu- <br />al does not cover such temperature ranges, the Office of Saline Water has ver- <br />bally specified a correction factor of 1.8 percent additional area for each de- <br />gree below 70oF. <br /> <br />0189 <br /> <br />31 <br />
