<br />N <br />..;;.. <br />~ <br />..;;.. <br /> <br />These funds were used for pipe lines, mobile sprinklers, <br /> <br /> <br />gated pipe, ponds, pumps, levelling lands, and wildlife <br /> <br /> <br />habitat features such as nesting platforms, fencing, and <br /> <br />seeding of lands. Applications have been received on both <br />group and individual long-term agreements and on group and <br />individual annual agreements. Practices applied were <br />155,000 feet of pipeline, 16,000 feet of gated pipe, 30 <br />mobile sprinklers and 33 acres of land levelling. <br />Participation and interest in, the program is very <br />high. The SCS staff which provides technical assistance <br />has been increased from 5 to 16. A full-time SCS biologist <br />and a biologist from the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service <br />have been added to the staff to provide assistance to deter- <br /> <br />mine appropriate practices to minimize adverse effects to <br /> <br />fish and wildlife habitat. <br /> <br />Lower Gunnison Basin, Colorado. A draft report is <br /> <br /> <br />being prepared which will include on-farm work plus those <br /> <br />laterals for installation of needed on-farm improvements. <br /> <br />The reconunended plan will identify rates of salt contribu- <br />tion. Scheduled completion of the planning report is the <br />end of FY 1981. Special attention is being given to wetland <br />and other wildlife habitat losses and provisions to minimize <br />adverse effects on these values. <br /> <br />Virgin River Unit; Nevada, Utah, Arizona. A draft of <br />the report covering the Moapa Valley area has been released <br />for review. The plan calls for introduction of improved <br /> <br />-16- <br />
