The overall <br />obi' ective of this effort was to create a database of information <br />co lected by the investi9ations at the 26 study areas shown <br />under Phase 2, ReconnOlssance Investigations, and to use the <br />database to identify commonalities and dominant factors that <br />result in irrigation-mduced contamination of water and biota.. <br />Previous publications from the data synthesis have concentrated <br />on selenium because it was the contaminant in the 26 study <br />areaS that most frequently exceeded criterion for the <br />protection of wildlife. A listing of these previous publications <br />can be found in the bibliography on the NIWQP Web site at <br />www.usbr.gov/niwqp. Chemical data collected from these study <br />sites can oe viewed and downloaded from the NIWQP Web <br />site. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />A final Data Synthesis report is being prepared which will <br />summarize the previously published selenium results. This <br />report will describe the contents and construction of the <br />database and will present information on the concentrations <br />of arsenic, boron, molybdenum, uranium, and organic pesticides <br />in water, biota, and sediments. The final report will also include <br />a quantitative toxicological risk assessment on the effects of <br />selenium on bird populations. <br /> <br />13 <br />
