.

e

e

~

Other Measured Flows to River:

These values of flow and salinity are from column 6 of Table 2. They are
entered into the KAF and P/M columns respectively. KrONS are calculated from
the flow and salinity (KAF and P/M columns). These values are the sum (and
flow ~eighted salinity) of the following stations; Gila River at Dome, North
Gila Drains No. 1 and 3, Bruce Church Drain, North Gila Main Canal Wasteway,
Laguna Canal Waste~ay, Bruce Church Wasteway, South Gila Drain No.2,
Reservation Main Drain, Yuma City Returns, Araz Drain, Mittry Lake Outlet
Channel, Fortuna Wasteway, Station 750+50 Wasteway, and South Gila Terminal
Wasteway. These flows are considered as inflows to the river and are
accounted for in the flow and salt load budgets.

Yuma Main Canal Wasteway:

This data set represents spills from the Yuma Main Canal. Spills from other
canals that reach the river could be included here. The only values entered
here are the flows (KAF). The salinity is assumed to be the same as the
Colorado River at Imperial Dam and the KTONS are calculated from the KAF and
P/M. These flows and salt loads are considered as inflows to the river and are
accounted for in the flow and salt load budgets.

Imperial Dam Release to Mexico:

This data set represents the flow diverted at and released from Imperial Dam
specifically for delivery to Hexico at NIB. No data is entered. The flows
are calculated by the budget as the delivery to Mexico at NIB minus all other
inflo~s to the river between Imperial Dam and NIB. The salinity is assumed to
be the same as the Colorado River at Imperial Dam and the KTONS is calculated
from the KAF and P/M.

These monthly flows (KAF) are calculated as sho~n below:

Imperial Darn Release to Mexico = Northerly International Boundary - (Yuma Main

Canal Wasteway + Other Measured Flows to River + Unmeasured Flows to River +

Yuma Mesa Conduit to River + South Gila Drainage Pump Outlet Channels to River

+ Wellton Mohawk Drainage F10~s to River)

Annual flows (KAF) are the sum of the monthly flows (KAF) as calculated above.

Colorado River at Imperial Dam:

This data set represents the Colorado River at Imperial Dam. This data set is
included as a reference only (it is not included in the flew and salt load
budgets). The KAF and P/M are entered and the KTONS are calculated from the
entered KAF and P/M. The annual flow weighted salinity is used to calculate
the salinity differential with the Delivery to Mexico at NIB.
