Morton in accordance with the National Environmental <br />Policy Act of 1969. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Fryingpan-Arkansas Project is a complex multipurposc water resource <br />development located in southeastern and ccntral Colorado. It is designed <br />to provide municipal and industrial water, supplemental irrigation water, <br />hydroelectric pO\'lcr, flood control, and other beneficial purposes including <br />recreation and the conservation and development of fish and wildlife. <br /> <br />The project includes numerous dams. reservoirs. canals. pipelines. tunncls, <br />transmission lincs, switchyards, and powerplants working in unified fashion to <br />meet national and regional objectives in the production and development of <br />Colorado's water and land resources. <br /> <br />The draft statement <br />struction, and proposed. <br />project are supplemental <br /> <br />discusses all features that are completed, under con- <br />All previous statements for various features of the <br />to and included in the overall statement. <br /> <br />The three-volume draft statcment describes the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project <br />and its purposes and function. An evaluation of the project's impact upon the <br />~hysical, biological, social, and csthetic aspects of the environment is a <br />part of the statement. Also discussed are actions taken by the project to <br />minimize or mitigate adverse project impacts and 3ctions taken to provide <br />enhancement of project effects, particuarly in thc area of fish and wildlife, <br />recreation, and esthetic qualities. <br /> <br />The draft statement will be avai lable for review and comment by all Federal, <br />State, and'local agencies and other interested individuals and groups after <br />Apri I 22, 1974.
