The verification data used in the Summer 1974 Model all falls

within 12% of the mathematical dissolved oxygen model except for

the data obtained in the area immediately below Alamosa. The

dissolved oxygen values measured in the river immediately below

Alamosa are between 1.75 and 2.4 mgll below the predicted dissolved

oxygen level. The verification data obtained by the Colorado De-

partment of Health and superimposed on the November 1974 Model

all falls within 9% of the mathematical dissolved oxygen model.

Except for the area of the river immediately below Alamosa,

the mathematical dissolved oxygen mOdel describes the river ade-

quately and as accurately as Possible with the verification data

available. The area immediately below Alamosa should be sampled

during the continuing monitoring and surveillance program recom-

mended in Section XI. If the monitoring and surveillance pro-

gram indicates a substantial problem in the area immediately be-

low Alamosa, the dissolved oxygen model and waste load allocations

may be modified at a later date.

c'~

,.... ,-,.1
i...i...J-..

, , -,' u'.'M_': _ '~, ~__~";.:.;:.:_;._,

VII-1O

l~
,

?'
~
i~
~:
~~

I;;'
