<br />o <br />~ <br />...... <br />w <br /> <br />state Salinity Control Activities <br /> <br />National Pollution Discharge <br />Elimination System Permits <br /> <br />All states have adopted the Forum policy dealing with <br /> <br />implementation of standards through the NPDES permit program. <br /> <br />During the period of this report, the status of <br /> <br />implementation was as follows: <br /> <br />Ari~Qg~ - Authority for issuing NPDES permits has not <br />been delegated to the state. Permits are prepared by the <br />state, then approved and issued by EPA, Region IX. <br />In the Colorado River Basin in Arizona above Imperial <br /> <br />Dam, eleven permits for waste water discharges were issued <br /> <br />during the period October 1, 1981 through September 30, 1982. <br /> <br />These included four municipal waste water facilities, two <br /> <br /> <br />private domestic, three federal domestic and two domestic <br /> <br />facilities on Indian reservations. <br /> <br />No industrial discharge <br /> <br />permits were issued. The permits require that TDS of both <br /> <br />source water and plant effluent be monitored for compliance <br /> <br />with the Forum's policy. <br />Q~.!..!.!.2!:!!i~ - The Cali forn ia Reg i onal Water Quali ty <br />Control Board, Colorado River Basin Region, issues the NPDES <br /> <br />permits and waste discharge requirements within the Colorado <br /> <br />River drainage portion of the state. No NPDES permits were <br /> <br />issued or reissued nor were applications for issue or reissue <br /> <br />received during the period. <br />In implementing the objectives of the Water Quality <br /> <br />Control Plan for the East Colorado.
