In the <br />southwestern part of the subbasin, Jurassic sandstones and shales of the <br />Morrison Formation underlie the headwaters areas of most of the tributary <br />streams. At lower altitudes, the Morrison Formation is exposed only adjacent <br />to the stream channel, and the Dakota Sandstone is found elsewhere. In the <br /> <br />42 <br />
