It is not the intent. of these graphs to imply that any single

pollutant or nonpoint source generating activity is more attibutable to

serious water pollution problems than any other. The graphs simply depict

total mileages of impacts to streams by pollutants and activities, not the

severity of those impacta.

Figure 8 is a graph which indicates the methodology for determining stream

techniques. Evaluated impacts are those impacts which have been noted through

the "Best professional judgment" of individuals, or through old monitoring

information which requires reconfirmation.

Table 4 provides information in regard to the impact of non point sources to

lakes and reservoirs. The table presents information by basin as to the

severity and nonpoint generating activity to which the impacts are

attributed. The table also' indicates the method by which the assessment was

performed, monitored or evaluated.

Figure 9, a map indicating the cumulative impacts of nonpoint sources,

indicates low, medium and high impacts from nonpoint sources. This map

represents the 3,342 stream miles detailed in Table 4, and the 25,877 surface

acres of lakes and reservoirs reported in .Table 4.

-23-
