Natural flows of the Colorado River
would be used for power generation. Project effects in other fields
have not been evaluated.

.

Hater for the Sharrerd Park area, consistin", of water released from
Ruedi Reservoir, would be pumped from the Colorado River at a point
about 6 miles downstream from Rifle, Colo. Three pumps in series
would deliver water to successively higher sections of the Sharrard
Park Pump Canal or its laterals from "hich the water would be dis-
tributed to the land.

Reservoir water for irrigation in the Roan Creek area and natural
flows for power production would be diverted from the Colorado
Hi ver at the Una Diversion Dam located about 11 miles dO\?nstream
from Grand Valley, Colo. The Una Power Canal would head at the
dam and extend south 4.1. miles to the Una Powerplant. The river
water would be released through the powerplant and ,"ould return to
the river. The reservoir water would flo" from the terminus of
the Una Fower Canal to the Una Pump Canal. A lift of about 1125
feet "ould be provided about 3.8 miles along the course of the pump
canal by the Una Pumping Plant. Farther along the canal and near
its terminus on Roan Creek the 1ft. Logan Reservoir would be con-
structed. Hater ,wuld be pumped for irrigation and for storar:e
during hours of off-peak power d.emand. Irrigation needs during
daily perioos of peak power demands "ould be met by releases from
Mt. LO{Tan Reservoir. Irrigation water delivered to Roan Creek "ould
be used on lower lands served from the creek and in exchan~e part
of the Roan Creek water now used on the lo"er lands "ould be used
on higher lands along the creek and its tributaries.

.

The Sharrard Park and Una Pumping Plants would utilize part of the
power {Tenerated. at the Una Powcrplant. The remainine power
would be deli.vered to transmission lines of the Colorado River
Storape project near Rifle for commercial sale.
