The Missouri River Basin Commission is the principal agency for the coordination of Federal, State,
interstate, local and nongovernmental plans for the development of water and related/and resources in the
area served by the Missouri River and its tributaries. As an independent regional commission, it also
provides a forum in which States meet with Federal agencies to conduct water and related land resources
planning. The Commission's Chairman is appointed by the President; its Vice-Chairman is elected from
among State members.

MRBC members are Colorado; Iowa; Kansas; Minnesota; Missouri; Montana; Nebraska; North Dakota;
South Dakota; Wyoming; Department of Agriculture; Department of the Army; Department of Commerce;
Department of Energy; Environmental Protection Agency; Department of Health, Education and Welfare;
Department of Housing and Urban Development; Department of the Interior; Department of Transportation;
Yellowstone River Compact Commission; Big Blue River Compact Administration. Canada is an observer.
