<br />',":- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />"') <br /> <br />:1 <br /> <br />...... <br />.-l <br /> <br />c,.".J <br /> <br />c...) <br /> <br />EVAPORATION AND PRECIPITATION <br /> <br />Evaporation reoords from seven stations, two in Colorado and five <br />in N~ ~exioo. and precipitation records from nine stations, three in <br />Colorado and six in New Mexioo are shown on the following page. <br /> <br />In each, oase the unit of measure is the inoh. <br /> <br />Measurements of evaporation are made in aooordanoe with standard <br />practioe for the various pans in use, <br /> <br />Preoipitation measurements are made in standard a-inoh rain gages <br />and, in some plaoes, with reoording rain gages. <br /> <br />The evaporation and precipitation stations at Elephant Butte Dam <br />and El Vado D&m and the preoipitation stations at Caballo Dam, Pankey <br />Ranoh and San Maroial were in operation prior to the effeotive date of <br />the Compaot. The stations near Wagon Wheel Gap, near Conejos (Lower <br />Damsite) and at Summitville were installed by the U. S. Weather Bureau <br />at the request of the Compaot Commission. Tbe evaporometer at San <br />Marcial was installed by the United States Seotion of the International <br />Boundary Commission. <br /> <br />..co . <br /> <br />The Rio Grande Compaot Commission wishes to aoknowledge the 00- <br />operation of the Weather Bureau and the United States Seotion' of the <br />International Boundary Commission in furnishing the records of evapo- <br />ration and preoipitation contained in this report. <br />
