<br />. <br /> <br />- 4 - <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ultimate capacity of 200 million gallons per day of product water. <br /> <br />N <br />W <br />o <br />{\..J <br /> <br />The first stage of the program would be a IS-million-gallon-per-day <br /> <br />plant with a recovery of 70 percent of the feed water as fresh water, <br /> <br />whereas subsequent stages would have a recovery of 90 percent. <br /> <br />The estimated cost of the completed facility would be approximately <br /> <br />$140 million with an annual O&M cost of $12 million. It is envisioned <br /> <br />it would take approximately 8 years to construct the facility. <br /> <br />Such a facility would give high visibility and would begin to give an <br /> <br />immediate reduction in the level of salinity of waters delivered to <br /> <br />the Republic of Mexico. The completion of the ultimate plant would <br /> <br />achieve a parity of delivery of quality waters to the water users in <br /> <br />the Republic of Mexico with those delivered to domestic water users <br /> <br />from Imperial Dam in the United States. <br /> <br />The Committee of 14 was informed of the high priority which the Bureau <br /> <br />of Reclamation has placed on the Colorado River Water Quality Improvement <br /> <br />Program, <br />
