Resources .,
associated with this riverine ecosystem include outdoor recreation, aquatic
habitat, cultural resources, and riparian habitat. Many of the resource
values associated with the management of the river ecosystem are dependent
upon streamflow quantity. Since the completion of McPhee Dam and reservoir,
the availability and quantity of flow in the Dolores River below the reservoir
have changed.

The BLM has prepared an instream flow assessment for the(purpo~'of
determining the quantit~nd availability of instream flows oelow McPhee Dam
necessarv to mainJ;,ain flow de~~~q~t resource values. The study reacn was
'.trom Bradfield Bridge to Bedrock. An advance copy of this report is enclosed
for your information.

Printing of the final report is scheduled for June 29, 1990. I would be
interested in meeting with you before June 29 to discuss any concerns your
agency may have with the report. Please contact Steve Vandas or Dale Brubaker
of my staff at 236-1762 if you wish to meet on this topic.

Sincerely,

.\ />.l ~.. .
--,-(-I..'--"-:c7~O

.
