, 001455

.

.

HYDROSPHERE

.

Resource Consultants

MEMORANDUM

TO: Ray Tenney
FROM: Chuck Brendecke, Hydrosphere
SUBJECT: . Progress Report for September - Yampa Basin Study
DATE: October 6,1994'
cc: Sue Uppendahl, Bob Norman

Our September work effort was fairly broad-based, with the greatest foeus on the documentation
aspects of Tasks 5, 6, 7, and 10.

Charges to Task I reflecl project management and administration. We attended at TSG meeting on
September 26 and some charges from that meeting have been assigned to this task.

Charges to Task 4 reflect some late-billed expenses incurrcd by Muller in documenting reservoir site
investigations.

Charges to Task 5 reflect Muller's work toward completion of the preliminary design. We included
a good bit of this documentation in our preliminary draft report. Doug's work since then has been focused
on design refinements, quantity takeoff, and fiJrther documentation.

Charges to Task 6 mainly reflect the documentation of reservoir operating studies. This
documentation formed the basis for Chapter 3 of the preliminary draft report circulated in mid-September.
I expect there will be a few more hours charged to Task 6 in October for "fine-tuning" of model runs and
generation of output graphs and tables for use in the project report.

Charges to Task 7 reflect preparation of the preliminary Environmental Assessment included in the
preliminary draft report as Chapter 6. Quite a bit of the writing of this documenl occurred in September.
There are still some missing pieces in it that we'll be working on this month.

Charges to Task 8 reflect finalization of the preliminary Biological Assessment. Copies of this were
distributed prior to the September 26 TSG meeting. There are some funds left in this task, roughly $2200,
that could support a meeting with the USFWS to discuss the BA if necessary.

Charges to Task 9 reflect Muller's work on refining cost estimates.

Charges to Task 10 reflect preparation of the preliminary draft report which was distributed in mid-
September. This documenl was structured so as to provide a clear picture of the contents of the final
report, and so included a substantial effort in the area of base mapping, etc. The schedule for report
revision was discl1ssed at the September 26 meeting.

Charges to Task I I reflect Doug and Bill's summarizalion of diversion structure evaluations and
scheduling of the surveying of Patrick Sweeny and Maybell diversions.

Please give me a call if you have any questions or comments on our September work effort,

Hydrosph~re Resourc<:l Consult.lIus 1002 Walnut SUite 200 Sould..:r, CO 80302

11
