Relocations <br /> <br />Enlar8ement of Twin Lakes will inundate a portion of existing <br /> <br />Colorado State Highway No. 82 (Highway 82) near the north <br /> <br />shores of Twin Lakes. Therefore, a 5.3 mile :relocation of <br /> <br />Hi8hway 82 is planned from the new Twin Lakes damsite to the <br /> <br />eastern outskirts of the Village of Twin Lakes (Figure 7). <br /> <br />The State Department of Highways, Division of Highways, State <br /> <br />of Colorado (Department) has prepa:red a proposal for :relocation <br /> <br />of Highway 82. The proposal is based on cur:rent Department <br /> <br />design standards and inCludes no:t'lllal traffic projection. These <br /> <br />standards a:re in accordance with Section 208(c) of Public Law <br /> <br />87-874 for hiehway :relocation. The preliminary plan includes <br /> <br />the followine; major items of work: clearing of vegetation, <br /> <br />approximately 560,000 cubic yards of excavation, 2~out 560,000 <br /> <br />cubic yards of e.lJlbankment, seeding and mulching on about 47 <br /> <br />acres of land, bituminous surfacing for two l2-foot travel <br /> <br />lanes with 8-foot shoulders, about 55,800 linear feet of barbed <br /> <br />A-14 <br /> <br />
