Agencies, in terms of their particular programs, <br />should prepare guidance on those types of actions <br />likely to require preparation of an impact state- <br />ment, and those types of actions not likely to <br />require preparation of a statement, Guideline <br />~1500,6(c) For those actions likely to require <br />preparation of a statement and those actions <br />that may require preparation of a statement <br />depending on the circu~stances, agencies should <br />identify what basic information needs to be <br />gathered, holY and when it is to be assembled and <br />analyzed, and on vlh2lt bases a decision whether to <br />prepare a statement will be made. Guideline <br />~l500.6(c) <br /> <br />2. Agencies should be alert to the need to prepare, <br />in appropriate cases, program statements and <br />statements on a group of interrelated projects. <br />Agencies engaging in major technology research <br />and development programs should develop procedures <br />for periodic evaluation to determine when a program <br />statement is required for such programs.
