On the Dallas Project, he <br />said, the county is opposed 10 Division <br />of Wildlife plans 10 have the Bureau of <br />Reclamation condemn 12 miles of river <br />frontage below Ridgway Dam and ac- <br />quire another 6,000 acres of private <br />land. He vowed that the easement and <br />acquisitions would be fought in court, if <br />necessary, by both the county and the <br />affected landowners. <br />Other Region 10 members termed the <br />proposal "a dirty deal," and moved to <br />. approve the environmental impact <br />statement conditional upon the Divi- <br />; sion's plans being deleted. <br />Harold Westeson, president .01 the. <br />Tri-COunty Water Conservancy Dist., <br />said be did not think the delegation : <br />would adversely affect the project. He <br />said Tri-COunty had fought against its . <br />inclusion for months and it was deleted <br />at one time, then reinstated. Tri-COunty , <br />is sponsor of the Dallas Project. <br /> <br />Region 10 reaffirmed a stand taken ' <br />several months ago to support the Den- <br />ver and Rio Grande Railroad's request <br />10 abandon the line between Montrose <br />8nd Ridgway.
