<br />r <br /> <br />'"i:\ <br />ii~ <br /> <br />'~:l <br />t~~~i <br /> <br />PANEL VOTES CONTINUED WATER PROJECT FUNDING <br />(Rocky Mountain News) <br />March 10, 1977 <br /> <br />WASHINGTON (AP) -- The House Interior Committee voted Wednesday <br />to conttnue funding for eight Bureau of Reclamation water projects <br />that President Carter has proposed be deleted from the fiscal 1978 <br />budget. <br />Rep. Lloyd Meeds, D-Wash., chairman of the water and power <br />resources subcommittee, said the full Interior panel approved a <br />subcoumittee report that called for continued funding. <br />Tfie report is to go to the House Budget Committee. <br />The projects are the Garrison Diversion Unit in North Dakota, <br />Central Arizona Project, Auburn-Folsom South Unit in California, <br />Dolores Project in Colorado, Fruitland Mesa in Colorado, Savery-Pot <br />Hook in Colorado, Oahe Unit in Soutb Dakota and Bonneville Unit in <br />Utah. <br /> <br />- I <br /> <br />In addition, Carter has proposed to halt funding for 11 water <br />projects run by the Army Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br />Copied: CWCB/mm - 3/10/77 <br />
