Datum <br />of gage is 7,427.63 ft above mean sea level, datum of 1929. <br /> <br />Drainage area.--7,700 sq mi, approximately (includes 2,940 sq mi in closed basin in San Luis <br />Valley) , <br /> <br />AveraRe discharge.--75 years (1900-74), 589 cfs (426,700 acre-ft per year), <br /> <br />Extremes.--1899-1974: Maximum discharge observed, 13,200 cfs June 8, 1905, (gage height, <br />9.1 ft), from rating curve extended above 8,000 cfs; no flow at times in 1950-51, 1956. <br /> <br />~emarks.--Records good except those for winter months, which are fair. Prior to Apr. 1. 1971 at site 900 ft downstream. <br /> <br />DrainaRe area.--112 sq mi. <br /> <br />Avera~e discharge.--7 years (1963-69) 11.5 cfs (8,330 acre-ft per year) prior to completion <br />of Azotea tunnel. <br /> <br />Extremes,--1962-74: Maximum discharge, 1.600 cfs Aug. II, 1967 (gage height, 3.88 ft); no <br />flow at times most years. <br /> <br />Remarks.-.Records good except those for winter months, which are poor.
