The final supplement to the Final <br />Environmental Impact Statement Is scheduled to be filed wtth the, <br />Environmental Protection Agency In 1995. <br /> <br />Other Information <br /> <br />The Animas-la Plata project as aU1horlzed would be developed In two Phases: <br />Phase I provides Irrigation service tor 42,815 acres, municipal and industrial <br />water service, and some recreation and fish and wildlffe features wtth a total <br />estimated cost of $526,060,000 (October 1995 price levels). On October 25, <br />1991, the Fish and Wildlffe Service Issued a final biological opinion torthe <br />Animas-La Plata ProjeC1 on Federally listed endangered species. The final' <br />biological opinion contains a reasonable and prudent altemative that, in the <br />opinion of the Service, would avoid the likelihood of jeopardy to the Colorado <br />squawtlsh. The biological opinion also contains information on the razorback <br />sucker, which was listed as an endangered species In November 1991. The <br />final opinion replaced the draft biological opinion Issued on May 7, 1990, which <br />stated that the project was likely to jeopardize the continued existence of the <br />Colorado squaw1ish. <br /> <br />Construction - 211 <br />
