Oflrt385

.

The river gains summarized in Table 21 are figures for the overall reach

from the confluence of the West, Middle, and East Mancos rivers to the gage

location near Highway 666. The amoWlt of river gain originating upstream

of the Weber Canyon, Navajo Canyon, and Aztec Wash locations was estimated

through use of the procedure described above for short-term rWloff calculations.

Thus, river gains for each river segment were considered to be distributed in

relation to average annual precipitation and drainage area. River gains for

each reach are summarized in Tables 22 through 25.

Calculation of Virgin Streamflow

Virgin streamflow at various locations on the Ute MOWltain Ute Indian

Reservation may be estimated through use of the following relationship:

(5) Virgin Flow (at a specific location) = Virgin Flow at Upper Gages

+ Accumulative River Gains in reaches
above location

+ Accumulative Short-Term RWloff
. in reaches above location

- Accumulative River Losses in reaches
Above location

Applying estimates for these components for each river segment as described

in the previous sections, the average annual virgin flows were calculated as

shown in Table 26. Monthly summaries of virgin flows for each river segment

are presented in Appendix C. Virgin flows, excluding the component contributed

by short-term rWloff events, are presented in Appendix D.

.

-39-
