<br />critical habitat river segments in 21 or
<br />the 29 Management Units and 5 of the
<br />
<br />6 Recovery Units defined in the:
<br />recovery plan ror the southwestern
<br />willow flycatcher (USFWS 2002: 84 to
<br />85). Placed in the context or the
<br />subspecies' wide geographic
<br />distribution, the disjunct nature or the
<br />
<br />populations, the dynamic aspects of its
<br />habitat, its endangered status. and its
<br />recovery goals, each segment is essential
<br />for the conservation or the southwestern
<br />willow nycalcher (USFWS 2002).
